Flat racing fans won’t miss a single minute of the action at Royal Ascot this year — as every race will be shown live on Channel 4.
Racing starts on Tuesday 16 June and day 1 hosts 3 Group 1s: the Queen Anne Stakes, King’s Stand Stakes and St James’s Palace Stakes.
All 30 races will be shown across the 5 day meeting — totalling more than 30 hours of live coverage.
Other highlights during the week include the Prince of Wales’s Stakes (Wednesday 17 June), the Gold Cup (Thursday 18 June), the Coronation Stakes (Friday 19 June) and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes (Saturday 20 June).
Channel 4 will be live at the course daily, so you can watch from the comfort of your sofa. Everyday there will be a Morning Line programme from 8am, and Royal Ascot: Channel 4 Racing will go live from 1.40pm-6pm, plus bespoke evening highlights programmes.
Coverage will still be spearheaded by Clare Balding, accompanied by Nick Luck who will also present each morning’s coverage of The Morning Line.
Reporters Emma Spencer, Mick Fitzgerald and Rishi Persad will help bring viewers closer to the action with exclusive access to the Ascot stables, jockeys’ changing room and stewards’ room. Gina Harding will also present “Inside Ascot” with exclusive access behind the scenes from the Royal Racecourse.
As Royal Ascot is almost as famous for its fashion, strict dress codes and fabulous hats as horses, style guru Gok Wan will also be joining the team throughout the coverage, bringing exclusive fashion features and reminding racegoers of the dos and don’ts and providing style tips.
For the first time ever in horseracing, a drone camera will be creatively used for the five-day Royal Meeting, bringing an interesting insight into the fixture.
And for those who subscribe to Racing UK, the channel will be showing a record 50 hours of coverage.
2015 will also see Racing UK (Sky 432/Virgin 536/UPC 411/Freeview 231) broadcasting from Royal Ascot.
Racing UK will be on-air from 1.30pm for each of the 5 days of the Royal Meeting — with the 1st hour free-to-view to all Sky customers.
At 9pm there will be a round up of the day’s action.
A team of presenters including Lydia Hislop, Oli Bell, Dave Nevison and Steve Mellish will be on hand to give analysis.
